The Thomas Jefferson Area Earned Income Tax Credit Coalition was established in 2007 to support low income working families in the Charlottesville region. The Coalition provides tax preparation assistance and financial education for workers and promotes use of the Earned Income Tax Credit (EITC). While the individual agency efforts to promote EITC have been in place for many years , the coalition was initiated by Delegate David J. Toscano to reach all individuals eligible for the EITC and maximize the benefits of the EITC for working families in the community.
