Target Stores nationwide have donated more than 4,500 decorated holiday trees to local United Ways who delivered the trees to families in need as well as to partners such as shelters and community centers.

This is the 17th consecutive year Target has donated artifical holiday trees to local community partners and families in need, and the second year for the local Target store. This year the store is donating 25 artifical trees used in store displays. Three are fully decorated, and the trees range from 3.5 feet to 9 feet tall!

These artifical holiday trees are "the gift that keeps on giving" year after year as families can re-use the trees. This year, a fully decorated tree was given to a family staying at the Hope House, a transitional housing program serving families through MACAA. The rest were delivered to the Westhaven Community Center, where families identified by the Public Housing Association of Residents picked them up. Justin Kinsey of Enterprise Rent-a-Car volunteered a cargo van and his time to pick up and deliver the trees.

Many thanks to Target and its empolyees and Enterprise Rent-a-Car for bringing the Christmas spirit into so many local homes!
