Our United Way seeks to make our community a place where children grow up healthy and arrive at school prepared to succeed. Through our School Readiness impact area, we partner with schools, preschools, nonprofits and community groups to improve children's successful transition into kindergarten.
Our Child Care Scholarships are for child care and preschool for children from low income working families in the City of Charlottesville and Albemarle County. These scholarships give children access to quality, stable early education environments to prepare them for success in school and life.
Scholarships are for children in families earning between 160% - 200% of the Federal Poverty Level, and use a sliding scale that encourages use of high quality, licensed providers to ensure children are best prepared for kindergarten.
