The truth is that there are gangs in our community. While the Charlottesville area does not yet have the problems seen in other communities, NOW is the time to take action before the situation worsens.

Come learn about current local activities, why young people join gangs, how to recognize gang affiliation and, most importantly, what you can do as a parent and community leader. Representatives of Safe Schools/Healthy Students and the Commission on Children and Families will present a solution-based approach to the increased gang activity in the Charlottesville/Albemarle area.
